Corona virus affects Tattoo Shops

How to prevent Tattoo shops from Corona?

 Tattoo shopping in USA

Friday the 13th is a popular day in the tattoo industry, with artists offering a "flash sheet" consisting of little predesigned looks with a 13 in honor of the date, most of which cost only $ 13, plus one tip.

"Every time we do Friday the 13th we do it more to want to give back to our community," said Roman Robledo, an artist at Lost Boys Tattoo Studio. "We tried to go out, you know, and make some really nice designs."

As several Tyler stores prepare for the day, Robledo says that the coronavirus (COVID-19), the outbreak has not really affected the business.

"Because we stay really clean as we wash our hands, we have our own sink," he said. "We stay lysoling everything, we metastasize everything, we've been doing that before the whole coronavirus thing happened."

All tattoo shops must follow the rules established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Some of the rules include, the tattoo artist should wear barrier gowns, gloves, to avoid contact and exchange of body fluids. Gloves and barrier gowns, in particular, should be changed after each client.

"Each configuration is new, each needle is new, each tube is new," said Robledo.

Friday the 13th will offer a break from the pandemic.

"We try to keep it out of the store, it's like politics and things like that, you know, and coronavirus is a very strange topic," he said.

Robledo says that while tattoo artists will do their part to disinfect, anyone planning to get a tattoo should do the same, especially since there are generally long lines and wait times at stores.

"Be sure to wash your hands and disinfect, we are going to be with a lot of people," he said.

If someone is concerned about getting a tattoo, they should talk to a doctor, especially if they have a pre-existing medical condition or a weakened immune system.

Tyler's tattoo shops participating in Friday the 13th deals:

-Lost Boys Tattoo Studio -Sir Dapper permanent makeup and ink revitalization
-La Familia Tattoo Studio
-Moth + moon tattoo

Now the question is what is Corona Virus

About Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

There is an ongoing investigation to determine more about this outbreak. This is a rapidly evolving situation and information will be updated as it becomes available.

How Covid-19 Spreads?

Diffusion from person to person

The virus is believed to spread mainly from person to person.

Between people who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet).
Through respiratory drops produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
These drops can fall into the mouth or nose of close people or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

Can anyone transmit the virus without being sick?

People are believed to be more contagious when they are more symptomatic (the sickest).
Something may spread before people show symptoms; There have been reports that this occurs with this new coronavirus, but this is not believed to be the main way the virus spreads.

Propagation of contact with contaminated surfaces or objects.

It is possible for a person to get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus and then touching their mouth, nose, or possibly eyes, but this is not believed to be the main way the virus spreads

How easily the virus spreads

The ease with which a virus is transmitted from person to person can vary. Some viruses are highly contagious (easily spread), like measles, while other viruses are not as easily spread. Another factor is whether the spread is sustained, spreading continuously without stopping.

The virus that causes COVID-19 appears to spread easily and sustainably in the community ("community spread") in some affected geographic areas.

Symptoms of corona Virus

Watch for symptoms

Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illnesses and death from confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. *

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Short of breath

How to protect yourself from Covid-19

1. Clean your hands frequently

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you've been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub until they feel dry.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your unwashed hands.

2. Avoid close contact

Avoid close contact with people who are sick

  • Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at increased risk of becoming seriously ill.

3. Stay home if you are sick

  • Stay home if you are sick, except for medical care. Learn what to do if you are sick.

4. Cover coughs and sneezes

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or use the inside of your elbow.
  • Throw used tissues in the trash.
  • Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, wash your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

5. Wear a mask if you are sick

If you are sick: You should wear a face mask when you are around other people (for example, sharing a room or vehicle) and before entering a healthcare provider's office. If you can't wear a face mask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your cough and sneeze, and caregivers should wear a face mask if they enter your room. Learn what to do if you are sick.

If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a face mask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and cannot wear a face mask). Face masks may be rare and should be kept for caregivers.

7. Clean and disinfect

Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, door knobs, light switches, counter tops, handles, desks, telephones, keyboards, toilets, taps, and sinks.
If surfaces are di*rty, clean them: use detergent or soap and water before disinfection.
